Legal & Compliance Manager

Knutsford (Head office) | £Competitive | Full Time

GRI are seeking a dynamic, versatile and talented individual to not only manage the legal & compliance function but also provide legal advice and support to a range of internal customers on both commercial and employment matters.

This is a broad ranging in-house legal and compliance role, in this standalone role you will be acting as a liaison between the business and our external legal advisors. This role will manage business compliance, ensuring policies and procedures meet regulatory and legislative requirements including ISO standards.

The successful candidate will also act as our data protection officer and be the first point of contact for GDPR.

What can you bring to GRI?

  • You will have knowledge of commercial law and its practical application,
  • Previous experience of working in an in-house legal function within a commercial organisation is desirable,
  • A legal qualification is desirable but not essential,
  • You will possess effective project management experience to support the delivery of Legal and Compliance projects,
  • You will have a good understanding of business structures and commercial arrangements,
  • Knowledge of the following ISO standards would be desirable: ISO 27001, 9001 & 14001,
  • You will be educated to Degree level or equivalent,
  • You will be able to work under pressure, manage conflicting priorities and work to tight deadlines,
  • You will be exceptionally detail focussed with the ability to spot errors or inaccuracies and produce documents to a very high standard and which are legally watertight and compliant,
  • You will have good interpersonal skills for developing relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders including clients, agencies and service providers,
  • You will be well organised and able to prioritise work effectively, for self and others whilst managing stakeholder expectations,
  • You will be credible and articulate,
  • You will have good negotiation skills.
