GRI has a long and award-winning track record of helping healthcare clients staff up quickly and safely to deliver public health initiatives, including supplying nurses for mass vaccination programmes.

For a number of years, we have supported one of the largest, annual private flu vaccination programmes in the UK, delivering the people and technological solutions to ensure the programme is safely staffed, costs are tracked and health objectives are met during the course of an often shifting flu season.

Each year, we work with the most appropriate recruitment agency partners who are adept at managing the unique demands of vaccination delivery and ensuring qualified, compliant nursing staff are recruited on a temporary basis onto vaccination teams. In 2019/2020 we worked with a number of trusted suppliers from previous years, as well as rapidly onboarding new recruitment agencies.

With a vaccination cycle that typically runs from September to the end of January peaking in October and November, ensuring the right numbers of nurses are in place for the fast-moving and often unexpected requirements of every UK region is vital. Whilst forecasting is a key part of the work that is done, GRI and its suppliers may need to change staffing plans at speed to manage demand depending on the severity of the flu season. Fortunately, the GRI solution can flex quickly and easily by bringing on board additional agencies and their candidate pools from a vetted wait list, almost instantly.

Using our e-tips® software system, locations where vaccines are required to be administered can be instantly and easily broadcast to agency providers, who pass this information on to the nursing teams in that region to action. In addition, our e-tips® mobile phone app can be used as an alternative solution where nursing teams are recruited as part of a bank. This allows direct communication between clients and their onboarded vaccination teams including details of when and where vaccinations are scheduled. In turn nurses simply click to confirm their availability and book on to run clinics.

Both staff booking/management options provided by the e-tips® system offer high levels of visibility, efficiency and security which are ISO and Cyber Security accredited. Right to work, nursing credentials, health checks and DBS checks of each person administrating the vaccine must all be loaded onto the system prior to booking and can be checked at any point by the provider responsible for the vaccine roll-out. The e-tips® system also offers a real time cost analysis of staffing levels required, so that if forecasted numbers need to change in certain regional areas or amongst certain settings, due to demand, this is instantly clear. This is extremely helpful for managing, monitoring and reporting budgets.

MI from the e-tips® system additionally creates a clear picture of progress – with every field on the e-tips® system trackable – whilst our system’s ability to integrate via an open API with any other software system, allows it to become part of a seamless approach to the management and monitoring of any vaccination programme.

GRI is extremely proud to have partnered on such a crucial initiative over the years and are ready to share our insights and technologies in the fight to test for, and mitigate against, the coronavirus pandemic.
